About halfway between Hawai‘i and American Samoa lies Palmyra Atoll - a circular string of about 26 islets nestled among several lagoons and encircled by 15,000 acres of coral reefs.
Palmyra Atoll is an island in the North Pacific Ocean. No one lives there. It is managed as a nature reserve by the United States. It is known as the Palmyra Atoll National Wildlife Refuge. Read further
