In July 2016 I realized a long-cherished wish and visited the Lofoten/Vesterålen Islands in Northern Norway for nine days. I flew with Norwegian from SXF via Oslo to Bodø, from there I had a rental-car. To reach the southern tip of the Lofoten Islands I took the carferry from Bodø to Moskenes (3 hours). On the Lofoten Islands I visited, o.a. „Å i Lofoten“, Moskenes, Reine, Nusfjord, Kalle, Ballstad, Stamsund, Kabelvag, Henningsvær, Ramberg, Flakstad, Diggermulen, Laukvik and Svolvær. On the Vesterålen Islands I were o.a. in Stokmarknes, Andenes, Sortland and Risøyhamn. Special-Highlight of my trip was a short shipping by Hurtigruten "MS Nordlys" from Stokmarknes to Svolvear (4,5 hours) through the Raftsund with entrance into the famous "Trollfjord" . From Andenes, the northern tip of the Vesterålen Islands, I made a 3 hours whale watching safari. Be careful, the saying „Moby Dick make us sick“ is true, which means there is very high seasick danger in this open north sea area). Very worth seeing were the three museums, which I visited: the Viking-Museum near Borg (Lofoten), the Hurtigruten-Museum in Stokmarknes as well the Andøya Space Center near Andenes (both Vesterålen). With the car ferry from Svolvær to Skutvik I got back to the nowegian mainland to fly back from Bodø via Oslo to Berlin.
