John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is the presidential library and museum. It was constructed in honor and to remember the life and achievements of the 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy. It is located in Boston, Massachusetts. It was designed by the architect I. M. Pei. It was opened to the public on October 20, 1979 and was rededicated on October 23, 1993.

On April 15, 2013, a fire began in the library. At first, reports said the fire appears to have started in a mechanical room. An official communication from the library stated that the fire is being investigated. At this time, the fire appears to be unrelated to the Boston Marathon bombings that occurred on the same day.

Visit your local Boston library and use the museum pass program and pick up a discount pass and only pay $3 to get in. Brilliant! Easy to get there via the redline and a free shuttle to the library.

Free tours with admission offered a couple times a day. Great information and good overview of the history of that time period in the early 60's. Lots of good JFK quotes throughout the building.

If you're a US History buff you'll want to check out the JFK Library. Be sure to check out the website ahead of time to look at the calendar and what exhibits are being highlighted.

A lot of history is here and it tells the story of JFK’s life and political career. It’s beautiful too. I think it does him justice.

If in the summer, bring a picnic - there are tables in the shade by the water. The best parts are FREE - the picnic area, the view through the glass in the entrance hall, and the parking!

Beautiful museum and very engaging exhibits! However the cafe is tiny so bring your own snacks/lunch if you plan on being there for a while
